Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp milk (optional, for added moisture)
  • Cinnamon -sugar mixture for topping (1/4 cup granulated sugar + 1 tsp ground cinnamon)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Sift in flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Stir until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • While the bars are still warm, generously sprinkle them with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into squares and serving.

Notes

Use room-temperature ingredients for smooth batter and even baking.
Don’t overmix the batter to keep the bars light and soft.
Sprinkle cinnamon sugar while the bars are warm for better adhesion.
